Friday Night Wine Up was a 2019 Aeris Bianco. 100% Carricante from vines sourced by Salvo Foti (Milo, Sicily). Pale straw yellow, expressive aromas. Pale yellow color. Flavors dominated by orchard fruit, spice and lemon zest. Subtle and nuanced, while at the same time intense and penetrating. Good amount of acidity.
Rhys Vineyard is a 26.2 acre mountain top vineyard in the West Sonoma Coast Southwest of the Rockpile AVA. The vines sit at an elevation of 2,000 ft on steep slopes and the effort is to replicate the terrior in Piemonte, Italy. Only 7 barrels (225L) produced of this unique wine. Aeris Vineyard is the first in the United States to grow Carricante.
