2023 Gold medal winner from Sommelier Challenge International Wine Competition

 

A beautiful red-violet color wine with aromas of red cherry and currant with a bit of spice. This wine had ripe plum and  blackberry.  Found it to have a smooth, long finish and a strong backbone.

 

Negroamaro is an amalgom of the Greek and Latin words for “black.”

 

Pairing: Meat based pasta dishes with rich tomato sauce, peppery salami, or mature cheeses.
